Factcheck calls out Obama's lies

Factcheck.org claims it is politically neutral. In fact, if you monitor
it closely, Factcheck appears to be left-of-center, but not crazy-left.
Thus it is significant when Factcheck comes very close to bluntly stating
the obvious and well-known fact: Obama is a liar
.

"Democrats, from President Barack Obama on down, are trying to turn an
evidence-free allegation into a major campaign theme, claiming that
foreign corporations are "stealing our democracy" with secret, illegal
contributions funneled through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. It’s a
claim with little basis in fact."

There is, of course, no basis in fact.

Rather it is yet another display of Obama's arrogant conviction that all Americans are stupid and gullible. Just like him.

Obama is dangerous. He is obviously incapable of accepting reality -
yes, he won the election because (counting honest votes only), there
were just enough gullible people to provide an electoral victory. Now,
after almost 20 months, we realize that Obama is a fascist. He has no
regard for the Constitution or for the rule of law. He believes, like
Hitler, Lenin, Stalin and Mao, he believes himself chosen by Providence.
And like them, he sneers at the very idea of democracy.

Americans must turn out as many Dems as possible in this election cycle.
Obama and Holder's attempts to engage in election fraud - and there
will be many of them - must be fought. And once they have a majority in
Congress, the People must let Republicans know that Obama must be
restrained in every way possible. No Dem appointees to the federal
court; no more czars; investigate every act by the Obama administration
that may have involved illegality.

America must be reclaimed for Americans.

Ethics meltdown at Justice Department

"USA Today offers an extraordinary multi-part study
of prosecutorial misconduct at the Department of Justice over the last
decade, under both Democratic and Republican administrations. The
stories generally show prosecutors out to support the political agendas
of their bosses. They also indicate a systematic evasion of the
requirements of prosecutorial ethics and a collapse of ethics training
and enforcement within the Justice Department, where an ethos of
“victory at all costs” now controls."

Just wait until November when all the voter fraud complaints pour in and Holder and Obama do nothings.

Heather Mac Donald offers a reason for the black-on-black murderfest in American cities.

"In every American city, the disproportionate black-illegitimacy rate is
matched only by the disproportionate black crime rate. In Chicago,
blacks, at least 35 percent of the population, commit 76 percent of all
homicides; whites, about 28 percent of the population, commit 4 percent.
In New York City, blacks, 24 percent of the population, commit 80
percent of all shootings; whites, 35 percent of the population, commit
less than 2 percent of all shootings. The black illegitimacy rate in New
York is over 78 percent; the white illegitimacy rate in the city is 7
percent. The national rate of homicide commission for black males
between the ages of 14 and 17 is ten times higher than that of “whites,”
into which category the federal government puts the vast majority of
Hispanics"

An article very much worth reading.

Federal workers are so much better than you and me.

"Privacy laws prevent release of individual tax delinquents' names. But we do know that
as of the end of 2009, 41 people inside Obama's very own White House
owe the government they're allegedly running a total of $831,055 in back
taxes. That would cover a lot of special chocolate desserts in the
White House Mess.

In the House of Representatives, 421 people owe a total $6,524,892.
In the Senate, 217 owe $2,774,836. In the IRS' parent department,
Treasury, 1,204 owe $7,670,814. At the Labor Department, where Secretary
Hilda Solis' husband had some back-tax problems before
her confirmation, 463 owe $7,481,463. Eighty-one workers for the
Federal Reserve System's board of governors owe $1,076,733.

Over at the Justice Department, which is so busy enforcing other laws
and suing Arizona, 1,971 employees still owe $14,350,152 in overdue
taxes."

And so much more.

Victor Davis Hanson nails Obama. Again.

"Yet Obama’s petulance, I think, more likely derives from a certain
surprise — leading to anger — that originates from novel and sudden
demands for accountability. Quite simply, no one has dared question
Obama before — much less press him for deeds to match his mellifluous
words.

Did he really think he could talk his way through four years of the American presidency?

Apparently, he did, and apparently he was almost right — given that
rhetoric and sophistry earned him the presidency in the first place. In
what follows, I hold some empathy for Obama’s pique; you see in some
sense those around him suddenly changed the rules, and what in the past
had been habit and custom no longer quite applied."

Read it here.

You'll wasnt to give this Victor Davis Hanson column to your friends and neighbors.

"In just 20 months, President Obama’s polls
have crashed. From near 70 percent approval, they have fallen to well
below 50 percent. Over 70 percent of the public disapproves of the
Democratically controlled Congress. Hundreds of thousands of angry
voters flocked to hear Glenn Beck & Co. on the Washington Mall.
Indeed, things have gotten so bad that the cherubic Mormon Beck might
outdraw Barack Obama himself on any given Sunday.

All this was not supposed to be — and it has evoked a lot of anger.

Washington Post columnist Eugene Robinson thunders, “The American people are acting like a bunch of spoiled brats.”

You see, hoi polloi want “easy solutions” — like trying to
close an open border, cut federal spending, and balance the budget.
Instead, they should be manning up to pay more for gas, more in taxes,
and more for entitlements for more to come across the border.

Worse still, the uninformed voter cannot seem to appreciate the
brilliance of Barack Obama, who has deigned to suffer on our behalf, in
offering only unpopular but necessary solutions. Obama has tried his
best to prepare an immature nation for amnesty, borrowing at record
levels, cap and trade, and additional trillions of national debt — the
castor oil that the obese and now constipated public for some reason
just won’t swallow."

These people need to be sentenced to long prison terms for encouraging and abetting long prison terms

"Daniel Millis, a volunteer with the faith-based organization No More
Deaths, was arrested in 2008 for littering. His crime: leaving bottles
of drinking water on trails near the Arizona-Mexico border so immigrants
walking through the desert would not die of thirst.
Last week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth
Circuit overturned Millis' conviction, by a 2-1 vote. It was an
important ruling. However the immigration debate works itself out, we do
not want to be a country that puts humanitarians in prison for giving
water to people dying of thirst"

The alternative is being a nation that is bankrupted in part by tolerating illegal immigration.

Oh my! Obama lies again.

'As Obama knows very well, the Citizens United decision applies to
unions and nonprofits just as much as it does to big corporations. As
Obama also knows very well, union political contributions dwarf corporate contributions:

Labor unions have dominated spending on independent campaign ads so
far this election season, despite a recent Supreme Court decision that
freed spending by corporations, a Washington Post analysis shows.

The findings are an indication that corporate money is not flooding
into campaigns as many predicted would happen after the landmark
decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission.

So far this year, $24.7 million in independent spending has been
reported to the Federal Election Commission, campaign filings show.
Unions have spent $9.7 million (or 39 percent of the total), compared
with $6.4 million (26 percent) spent by individuals and $3.4 million
spent by corporations.

Unlike corporations, which
typically hedge their bets by giving to both parties and mainly to the
party in power, union contributions flow 90%+ to Democrats."

Oh my, Obama lies again. Read about it here.

Federal workers earning double their private counterparts

"At a time when workers' pay and benefits have
stagnated, federal employees' average compensation has grown to more
than double what private sector workers earn, a USA TODAY analysis
finds.

Federal workers have been awarded bigger average
pay and benefit increases than private employees for nine years in a
row. The compensation gap between federal and private workers has
doubled in the past decade.

Federal civil servants earned average pay and
benefits of $123,049 in 2009 while private workers made $61,051 in total
compensation, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The data
are the latest available.

The federal compensation advantage has grown from $30,415 in 2000 to $61,998 last year."

Say, isn't Chicago Obama's town?

"It’s a shame that the public has to be reminded of this from time to
time, but any cop can testify to this inescapable fact of police work:
Where there is no punishment for criminal behavior, crime will flourish.

Nowhere has this been demonstrated with greater clarity lately than in Chicago, where the Sun-Times has taken notice and sounded the alarm. In a three-part series that concluded Tuesday, reporters Mark Konkol and Frank Main examined
the violent incidents that occurred over a single weekend in Chicago
two years ago. During that 59-hour period, from April 18 -20, 2008,
forty people were shot in the city, seven of them fatally. Stop and
consider that for a moment: one city, one weekend, seven people
murdered, and 33 others shot but still alive.

As horrifying as those numbers are, they are far from the most disturbing revelation in the Sun-Times
series. You might assume that such an extraordinary outbreak of carnage
would have aroused the citizenry in Chicago to demand swift action from
their police, prosecutors, and elected officials to see to it that
those responsible for the violence were brought to justice. You might
assume so, that is, if you don’t live in Chicago.

As it happens, not a single suspect in any of those shootings has been convicted of a crime."

Michael Ramirez skewers Obama's silly NASA stugg

Friday, July 9, 2010

Trained as a psychiatrist, Charles Krauthammer brings unique insight to his perception of Obama

"It’s fine to recognize the achievements
of others and be non-chauvinistic about one’s country. But Obama’s
modesty is curiously selective. When it comes to himself, modesty is in
short supply.

It began with the almost comical self-inflation
of his presidential campaign, from the still inexplicable mass rally in
Berlin in front of a Prussian victory column to the Greek columns
framing him at the Democratic convention. And it carried into his
presidency, from his posture of philosopher-king adjudicating between
America’s sins and the world’s to his speeches marked by a spectacularly
promiscuous use of the first-person pronoun “I.”

Notice, too,
how Obama habitually refers to cabinet members and other high-level
government officials as “my” — “my secretary of homeland security,” “my
national security team,” “my ambassador.” The more normal — and
respectful — usage is to say “the,” as in “the secretary of state.”
These are, after all, public officials sworn to serve the nation and
protect the Constitution — not just the man who appointed them.

It’s a stylistic detail, but quite revealing of Obama’s exalted view of
himself. Not surprising, perhaps, in a man whose major achievement
before acceding to the presidency was writing two biographies — both
about himself."

Obama and Holder getting ready for massive vote fraud in Novmber, 2010

infusing our government institutions. Citizens would be shocked to learn
about the open and pervasive hostility within the Justice Department to
bringing civil rights cases against nonwhite defendants on behalf of
white victims. Equal enforcement of justice is not a priority of this

In a word, fraud.

Will Obama try to deem his critics "domestic terrorists"?

Will Obama resurrect this legislation in order to deem his critics "domestic terrorists"?

"Harman's bill contends that the United States will soon have to deal
with home grown terrorists and that something must be done to anticipate
and neutralize the problem. The act deals with the issue through the
creation of a congressional commission that will be empowered to hold
hearings, conduct investigations, and designate various groups as
"homegrown terrorists." The commission will be tasked to propose new
legislation that will enable the government to take punitive action
against both the groups and the individuals who are affiliated with
them. Like Joe McCarthy and HUAC in the past, the commission will
travel around the United States and hold hearings to find the terrorists
and root them out. Unlike inquiries in the past where the activity was
carried out collectively, the act establishing the Violent
Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Commission will
empower all the members on the commission to arrange hearings, obtain
testimony, and even to administer oaths to witnesses, meaning that
multiple hearings could be running simultaneously in various parts of
the country. The ten commission members will be selected for their
"expertise," though most will be appointed by Congress itself and will
reflect the usual political interests."

Victor Davis Hanson on Obama and the trampling of the Constitution.

Victor Davis Hanson details just one of the ways in which Obama is destroying the Constituion:

"We are well
into revolutionary times, but perhaps not in the way we traditionally
think of political upheaval. Instead, insidiously, the law itself is
becoming negotiable — or rather, it is becoming subservient to what
elite overseers at any given time determine is a higher calling of
social change"

Mark Steyn truly hits the mark on Obama

Mark Steyn, inone of his best columns ever, sums up Obama:

"Only the other day, Sen. George Lemieux
of Florida attempted to rouse the president to jump-start America’s
overpaid, over-manned, and oversleeping federal bureaucracy and get it
to do something on the oil debacle. There are 2,000 oil skimmers in the
United States: Weeks after the spill, only 20 of them are off the coast
of Florida. Seventeen friendly nations with great expertise in the field
have offered their own skimmers; the Dutch volunteered their
“super-skimmers”: Obama turned them all down. Raising the problem,
Senator Lemieux found the president unengaged and uninformed. “He
doesn’t seem to know the situation about foreign skimmers and domestic
skimmers,” reported the senator."

Obama and the War against Israel

Excellent article by David Horowitz and Jacob Laskin about Obama's approach to the Middle East.

"For decades now, Israel has been
isolated and alone in the community of nations, with one crucial
exception. That exception has been the
United
States
, a country on which it has
relied for its survival throughout its 60-year history. Every would-be
aggressor has understood that the world’s most powerful nation was
behind
Israel and would not let her be destroyed. Every
government harboring ill will toward the Jewish state has had to reckon
with the fact that the
United States was in Israel’s corner. Every vote of condemnation in the United
Nations had to confront a veto by the nation that provides its chief
financial support.

Until now.

In the words of a recent Reuters
dispatch
, “Under President Barack Obama, the
United States no
longer provides
Israel with automatic support at the United Nations, where
the Jewish state faces a constant barrage of criticism and
condemnation. The subtle but noticeable shift in the
U.S. approach to
its
Middle East ally comes amid what some analysts describe as one
of the most serious crises in U.S.-Israel relations in years.”"

"Obama believes in the rule of law — his law. No other law is relevant.
No other law matters. When Obama speaks, he expects the world to obey.

In his Tuesday night performance, he said "I will meet with the chairman
of BP and inform him that he is to set aside whatever resources are
required to compensate the workers and business..." "Inform him?"
Where does Barack Hussein Obama get the authority to issue orders to the
CEO of a private corporation? There is no such authority in the
Constitution. There is no law that empowers the president to "inform"
the CEO of any corporation how he will spend the corporation's money.
Obama couldn't care less about the Constitution or the law."

Glenn Beck is becoming America's teacher

Glenn Beck is becoming America's teacher. If millions of people rely
upon Comedy Central's Jon Stewart for their news, what is odd about
millions relying upon Glenn Beck as their teacher about the glories of
the United States? Increasingly, Beck has been assuming the role of
teacher, of professor, explaining the Constiution and its meaning, the
personalities of the Founding Fathers and so forth. It is no surprise
that the Dems and left-wingers are driven insane by this - they don't
want the truth about America to be known. Beck last week did a program
on the 60 year old book "The Road To Serfdom", a classic on economics,

"THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned that senior Obama administration
officials have been telling foreign governments that the administration
intends to support an effort next week at the United Nations to set up
an independent commission, under UN auspices, to investigate Israel's
behavior in the Gaza flotilla incident. The White House has apparently
shrugged off concerns from elsewhere in the U.S. government that a) this
is an extraordinary singling out of Israel, since all kinds of much
worse incidents happen around the world without spurring UN
investigations; b) that the investigation will be one-sided, focusing
entirely on Israeli behavior and not on Turkey or on Hamas; and c) that
this sets a terrible precedent for outside investigations of incidents
involving U.S. troops or intelligence operatives as we conduct our own
war on terror."

"From the beginning, the Obama strategy toward Iran and other rogue states had been to offer good will and concessions on the premise that this would lead to one of two outcomes: (a) the other side changes its policy or, (b) if they don’t, the world isolates the offending state and rallies around us — now that we have demonstrated last-mile good intentions.

Hence, nearly a year and a half of peace overtures, negotiation, concessions, two New Year’s messages to the Iranian people, a bit of groveling about U.S. involvement in the 1953 coup, and a disgraceful silence when the regime’s very stability was threatened by peaceful demonstrators.

Iran’s response? Defiance, contempt, and an acceleration of its nuclear program."

Why on Earth Hasn't Obama Spoken with BP's CEO?

"How can someone who says they are seriously engaged in leading the
country through an ongoing crisis go more than seven weeks without
speaking directly with the person whose company is tasked with a
critical part of bringing the crisis to an end? Why would someone who
claims to be focused night and day on doing whatever is needed to put an
end to the catastrophe not want to have a direct line of communication
with Hayward? In fact, instead of not speaking at all with Hayward,
wouldn’t a President who was serious about taking charge of the
situation and being as well informed as possible do the opposite and demand
that the BP CEO provide him with constant direct updates of BP’s
efforts in the Gulf, perhaps even on a daily basis?"

Obama needs to be asked these questions over and over until he tells the truth - which is that he has no idea of what to do.

Obama is leading us to disaster on yet another front

Where is the Obama who was going to make government work?

"I speak of the report from the Inspector General of the Justice
Department, issued in late May, saying the department is not prepared to
ensure public safety in the days or weeks after a terrorist attack in
which nuclear, biological or chemical weapons are used."

Obama lies again: this time about experts recommending drilling moratorium

That six month moratorium on drilling Obama said was recommended by experts?
  He's lying again.

"Arnold said after the report was submitted, he and his colleagues were
blindsided by the inclusion of a broad moratorium in the Department of
Interior's report entitled, "Increased Safety Measures For Energy
Development On The Outer Continental Shelf."

"The decision on the
moratorium is a political decision," said Arnold. "I don't think it's
warranted. Not only that, I think it has long-term implications the
government may not have fully understood."

Arnold said the
original report he and his colleagues reviewed and sent to the Obama
administration called for changes in safety, training and government
oversight.

Arnold said the original report only called for a six-month
moratorium on issuing new permits for exploratory wells drilled by
floating rigs in water depths greater than 1,000 feet.Arnold said
the report also called for a "temporary pause" to those rigs already
drilling in deepwater until critical safety devices were inspected and
recertified."That subsequently was changed after we had seen it,"
said Arnold."

Is there nothing that Obama won't or doesn't lie about? Nope.

Ties that bind between Obama, Dems and BP

Obama and lying, hypocritical Dems and left-wingers exposed once again as the Washington Examiner reveals their close ties wth BP. "But the Kerry-BP alliance for an energy bill that included a
cap-and-trade scheme for greenhouse gases pokes a hole in a favorite claim of President Obama and his allies in the media — that BP’s lobbyists
have fought fiercely to be left alone. Lobbying records show that BP is no free-market crusader, but instead a close friend of big
government whenever it serves the company’s bottom line."

Hillary Clinton: you must pay more taxes!

If a Republican did this, they'd be trotting out the crap about the "Ugly American", American imperialism and the like.

"US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton on Tuesday urged the wealthy across the Americas to pay their "fair share" of taxes in order to eliminate poverty and promote economic opportunity for all. In a policy speech in the Ecuadoran capital, Clinton said her appeal to overhaul tax systems did not amount to "class warfare" and was instead a recognition that the "winner-take-all-approach" was a drag on progress"

The best part is toward the end:

""But in many places, including often in my own country, the simple fact is that the wealthy do not pay their fair share of taxes. We can't mince words about this."

Confiscatory socialist taxes are on the way.

Obama: enemy of the First Amendment

Has the United States ever had a chief executive so against the First Amendment? No.
"The president said he’s concerned that BP has contracted
for $50 million in television ads to manage its image . . ."
This is a warning from Obama to BP not to interfere with Obama's constant and untruthful attacks on BP. Remember, BP exists largely a...t the mercy of federal and state governments, so a warning from a Hugo Chavez personality like Obama is not to be taken lightly. Obama already has moves afoot in Congress, the FCC and FTC to muzzle dissent. Obama is truly a threat to the Constitution of the United States of America.

Full story here.

Obama really does think all Americans are really stupid.

Obama is increasingly detached from reality. He really believes Americans are incredibly stupid and don't recognize when he is lying. "Barack '8 Years of Failed Bush Policies' Obama tells high school grads: 'Don't make excuses'"
What can be weirder than Obama, who constantly blames George W. Bush and so many others, advising high school students not to make excuses. What a clown.

Discrimination for me, but not for thee.

"The Red and Black Café is an anarchist coffee shop in Portland that caters to the niche clientele of coffee-drinkers for whom the average Portland café is not liberal enough: union radicals, homeless advocates, anti-drug-war civil disobedients, etc. Last month, a uniformed policeman on a coffee run was gently 86ed by one of the Red and Black’s co-owners on the grounds that the presence of a police officer was making the other patrons uncomfortable."

Uhmmmm, what is the cop was a homosexual or lesbian? Or a person of color? What then? How would these left-wingers deal with it? Lik the homosexual baseball league did with the bisexuals? Tell them they weren't homosexual enough or something?

Alan Dershowitz makes sense

“In a world in which North Korea sinks a South Korean naval vessel killing dozens, Iran arms Islamic terrorists, who kill hundreds, Russia bombs Chechnya, killing thousands, and the United States and Great Britain, while targeting al Qaida and Taliban, kill an indeterminate number of civilians, only Israel is subjected to international "investigations" such as that conducted by Richard Goldstone and that being called for by the Security Council in the wake of the recent flotilla fiasco.

Why only Israel? Why is the United Nations silent about other situations that cry out for international investigations? Surely it's not because what Israel did was worse than what other member nations have done. Certainly it's not because Israel lacks self-criticism or mechanisms for internal investigation. Plainly it's not because the other "offenders" were provoked, while Israel was unprovoked.

There is only one answer - because Israel has long been singled out for public scrutiny and opprobrium by the United Nations in particular and the international community in general.”

Obama's corrupt administration.

“In case you were tempted to buy the faux Washington outrage at BP and its gulf oil spill in recent days, here's a story that reveals a little-known corporate political connection and the quiet way the inner political circles intersect, protect and care for one another in the nation's capital. And Chicago.

We already knew that BP and its folks were significant contributors to the record $750-million war chest of Barack Obama's 2007-08 campaign.

Now, we learn the details of a connection of Rahm Emanuel, the Chicago mayoral wannabe, current Obama chief of staff, ex-representative, ex-Clinton money man and ex-Windy City political machine go-fer.

Shortly after Obama's happy inaugural,  eyebrows rose slightly upon word that, as a House member, Emanuel had lived the last five years rent-free in a D.C. apartment of Democratic colleague Rep. Rosa DeLauro of Connecticut and her husband, Stanley Greenberg.

For an ordinary American, that would likely raise some obvious tax liability questions. But like Emanuel, the guy overseeing the Internal Revenue Service now is another Obama insider, Tim Geithner, who had his own outstanding tax problems but skated through confirmation anyway by the Democratic-controlled Congress.”

Obama and his offensive against freedom of expression.

The intersection of Obama's fascism and the Ameican people's natural desire for freedom are heading toward a collision. Obama is moving on fourth separate fronts to gain control of what is said on the internet. He has set his FTC and FCC on course to limit speech and has had the dependable Reid and Pelosi generate legislation to the same effect. Finally, he has nominated the free speech hating Alena "the government can forbid publication of books" Kagan to the Supreme Court. The First Amendment right to free expression is clearly intolerable to Obama and his supporters. This Wall St. Journal article indicates that Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the other wannabe dictators may encounter resistance from the people they seek to "protect" from free speech.

Al Sharpton and John Conyers exploit a tragic death.

Don't vomit when you read this. Al Sharpton delivered the eulogy at the funeral for the 7 year old girl who was the victim of an allegedly accidental shooting by police in Detroit.

I am no fan of police or the burgeoning number of SWAT teams that are over-equipped, under-trained, used far too often and make far too many tragic errors. But Al Sharpton coming to Detroit to deliver a eulogy? This is the same Al Sharpton who incited a crowd to murder a Hasidic Jew in the aftermath of a traffic accident. This is the same Al Sharpton who incited the arson of a store that killed several Koreans.

Did Al Sharpton say a critical word about the suspect the police were pursuing? The suspect, a 34 year old man engaged in a verbal confrontation with a 17 year old, leaving and coming back with a gun and allegedly killing the 17 year old. Why? It is said the suspect thought the 17 year old looked at him the wrong way. According to this article, Sharpton had nothing to say about the suspect. Only the police were criticized.

Did Sharpton show up or comment on any of the 379 people murdered in Detroit in 2009? Apparently not. If this hypocrisy isn't enough, John Conyers (whose wife just pleaded guilty to felonies) demanded that Eric Holder investigate the police. He didn't say a word about the 379 murders in 2009 either.

DOJ civil rights attorney resigns over handling of New Black Panther Party case

“A trial attorney with the Department of Justice’s Voting Rights Section has resigned, citing concerns about the government’s refusal to prosecute a case involving voter intimidation by the New Black Panther Party. A letter of resignation obtained by The Washington Examiner from a former Justice Department employee makes clear DOJ has refused to allow attorneys in the Voting Rights Section to testify before the congressionally-chartered bipartisan U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, despite subpoenas that could result in their being held in contempt.”

Spanish judge idolized by left-wingers fired

“Garzón has also often used more than questionable methods against detainees, such as calling the media to cover the actual arrests, long interrogations that prevented the accused from food intake. Or even calling detainees for questioning at midnight and keeping them up all night. And like the campaign, he still talks of bipartisanship (remember, he

health care without a single Republican vote. His entire agenda—federal
take-overs of businesses, near two-trillion-dollar deficits, health

Eric Holder can't understand what motivates Islamic terrorists

You can take the measure oef Obama by the people he appoints. Take, for instance, Eric Holder in this exchange with Rep. Lamar Smith:

SMITH: Let me go to my next question, which is -- in -- in the case
of all three attempts in the last year, the terrorist attempts, one of
which was successful, those individuals have had ties to radical... Islam.
Do you feel that these individuals might have been incited to take the
actions that they did because of radical Islam?

HOLDER: Because of?

SMITH: Radical Islam.

HOLDER: There are a variety of reasons why I think people have taken
these actions. It's -- one, I think you have to look at each individual
case. I mean, we are in the process now of talking to Mr. Shahzad to try
to understand what it is that drove him to take the action.

SMITH: Yes, but radical Islam could have been one of the reasons?

HOLDER: There are a variety of reasons why people...

SMITH: But was radical Islam one of them?

HOLDER: There are a variety of reasons why people do things. Some of
them are potentially religious...

Eric Holder who has written legal briefs in support of terrorists, who was in the country on 9/11, who heads a department with hundreds of lawyers (including many of whom have defended terrorists and were hired by Holder), has seen the interrogations of the Underwear bomber, has reviewed the transcripts of terrorists allegedly tortured by the US A(he defended them) and he can't connect the terrorism we have been fighting for ten years with "radical Islam"?

How stupid do Holder and Obama think we are? Answer: extremely.

Dumb, desperate Dems

“Byron York usefully compiled the “Top 10 dumbest things said about the Arizona immigration law” two weeks ago. The list has undoubtedly grown significantly since then. Los Angeles city councilman Ed Reyes deserves top billing on any updated compendium of idiocy for the following statement, made in anticipation of the Los Angeles City Council’s resolution to boycott Arizona:

Equality of outcome: the common people will have longer lines

Ah, yes: equality of outcome. The old socialist and national socialist ideal. Women take longer in bathrooms. Thus, lines form for women's bathrooms even when the number of appliance are equal. So, we need laws. I would suggest a law imposing draconian fines for anyone spending more than a specified time in a public bathroom. This would increase government revenues and confiscate nearly all my income.

Instead, the Dems want "potty parity". The result is summarized by an academic expert in the area: "Wolf Trap, the National Park Service's outdoor concert venue in Fairfax County, had two men's and two women's restrooms, and men breezed through while women waited in long lines. So one men's room was converted to a women's room and now "today everyone waits in line."' How's that hope and change going for you, comrade? Of course, the elite will have separate bathroom facilities attended by government employees with great salaries, benefits and pensions.

First Amendment means nothing to Elena Kagan

“In a 1993 essay published by The University of Chicago Law Review, for instance, she suggested how supporters of bans on pornography and "hate speech" could pursue their goals despite that pesky First Amendment. Her proposals included bans on "works that are both sexually explicit and sexually violent," a redefinition of obscenity to focus on material deemed harmful to women (which would then be unprotected—an idea that anticipated Kagan's argument in the animal cruelty case), "hate crime" laws that boost penalties for existing offenses when they’re motivated by bigotry, and laws "prohibiting carefully defined kinds of harassment, threats, or intimidation."”

Rules Of Engagement To Die For

I notice the mainstream press is not asking Obama for his opinion of this lunacy:

In Afghanistan, European NATO commanders are recommending that NATO establish a combat award recognizing soldiers who risk their own lives to avoid Afghan civilian casualties. This would be called the Courageous Restraint medal and the first few would probably be awarded posthumously, because the most obvious cases would involve NATO troops holding their fire when the enemy uses civilians as human shields. This enables the enemy to kill their better trained and equipped opponents. The best example of this occurred in 1993, when 24 Pakistani troops were killed by Somali gunmen using civilians as human shields. Those dead Pakistanis would be eligible for the Courageous Restraint medal. The only problem with this is that the troops are none too happy with this use of human shields, or getting killed because of it.”

Data shows the pay gap between state and local government and private sector workers. (Chris Edwards/Cato Institute)

For decades, public sector unions have peddled the fantasy that government employees were paid less than their counterparts in the private sector. In fact, the pay disparity is the other way around. Government workers, especially at the federal level, make salaries that are scandalously higher than those paid to private sector workers. And let's not forget private sector workers not only have to be sufficiently productive to earn their paychecks, they also must pay the taxes that support the more generous jobs in the public sector.

Data compiled by the Commerce Department's Bureau of Economic Analysis reveals the extent of the pay gap between federal and private workers. As of 2008, the average federal salary was $119,982, compared with $59,909 for the average private sector employee. In other words, the average federal bureaucrat makes twice as much as the average working taxpayer. Add the value of benefits like health care and pensions, and the gap grows even bigger. The average federal employee's benefits add $40,785 to his annual total compensation, whereas the average working taxpayer's benefits increase his total compensation by only $9,881. In other words, federal workers are paid on average salaries that are twice as generous as those in the private sector, and they receive benefits that are four times greater.”

Obama makes his racism crystal clear: white men need not apply.

“Mr. Obama's attempted appeal to the party's ethnic and gender base this early in the election year has a tinge of panic. But at least Democrats are admitting they are the party of racial identity. This is how they think, how they legislate and how they make policy. It's refreshing for them to be so public about it.”

The precise moment when dissent became treason

“""[I]t seems that publicly airing your grievances stopped being patriotic right around noon on January 20th, 2009." How so? "Once President Obama was sworn in, protesting became incitement to violence."' A fellow named Evan Coyne Maloney "produced a timely new video splicing together footage that he calls "A trip down memory lane." He describes it as four minutes of nonstop examples of violent imagery and extremist rhetoric employed by left-wing anti-Bush protesters. He writes: "For some reason, despite it being well documented at the time by me and many others, the media chose to ignore it."' No surprise in Obamaland about that, is there Follow the links.

NYTimes buries the lede: Glenn Beck up 50% in viewership. Larry King down, down, down.

You have to read this to the very last paragraph before the New York Times admits that Glenn Beck has gained 50% more viewers in the past year and, close to the end,  that FoxNews leads all the other networks.

Instead, the New York Times focuses on Larry King’s ratings slide.

“It turns out there really is growing inequality in America. It's the 45% premium in pay and benefits that government workers receive over the poor saps who create wealth in the private economy.”

A great letter Obama will never read

  From the Weekly Standard:

Conservatives To Send Letter to Obama on Israel

Bauer text decries Obama’s rhetorical “assault” on a friend.

BY Daniel Halper

March 17, 2010 4:40 PM

THE WEEKLY STANDARD has obtained a copy of the text of a letter written by conservative leader Gary Bauer to President Obama, challenging the Obama administration’s recent rhetorical assault on Israel. Bauer is circulating the letter to other conservative leaders as signatories, and apparently is getting a strong response.

Here’s the text of the letter:

Dear Mr. President,

In recent days your Administration has unleashed an unprecedented barrage of criticism at Israel, our most reliable ally in the Middle East. The ostensible reason for this assault was a municipal zoning decision permitting construction to continue on a housing division inside Israel's capital city.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu publicly and immediately apologized to the United States and to Vice President Biden personally for the announcement’s awkward timing, which occurred during Biden’s visit. Between two allies, that should have ended the matter. But in the 72 hours that followed, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Senior White House advisor David Axelrod all turned up the rhetorical heat in what the press reports is a concerted effort directed by your Administration to manufacture a crisis that weakens Israel on the eve of new peace talks.

Friends handle disagreements privately. Your public escalation sends a clear message of hostility and has increased tensions in the region. Your actions are likely to delay the resumption of peace talks between Palestinians and Israelis. You are now demanding that Israel make concessions to you on issues that are to be negotiated with the Palestinian Authority.

The building authorized by Israel, as we are sure you know, is not a “settlement,” in the minds of anyone other than Israel’s most committed enemies. Ramat Shlomo is a neighborhood in northern Jerusalem where more than 18,000 people already live. It is clearly understood by everyone, Palestinians included, that Israel regards this area as inside Jerusalem’s municipal borders and would not be included as part of any future Palestinian state.

Were it not so dangerous, the very idea that allowing Israel to build homes in this Jerusalem neighborhood can in any way threaten the peace process would be laughable. Alas, the only ones laughing are Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbollah, Syria and Iran. We are left to wonder why you have chosen to create a public diplomatic crisis over a zoning issue in Jerusalem.

Adding to our concern is the fact that at the same time you are bludgeoning Israel, your Administration has yet to present any viable policy to stop Iran’s acquisition of nuclear weapons. You have repeatedly extended an open hand of friendship to Iran, even after Ahmadinejad responds with a clenched fist and poisoned tongue. He is furiously rushing to develop the nuclear weapons he promised to use to destroy Israel and weaken the U.S. through blackmail and intimidation.

Yet you save your own vitriol for Israelis building homes for Jewish families in the Jewish capital. You offer Iran extension after extension for each deadline it fails to meet. You were the last Western leader to condemn Iran’s human rights outrages last June, but the first and only leader to condemn Israel’s decision to build homes for Israelis to live in Jerusalem.

Mr. President, on September 11th, 2001, Americans watched in horror as demonstrations broke out in Palestinian neighborhoods, celebrating the death of 3,000 Americans. In contrast, in Israel they declared a day of mourning, lowered their flag and cried with us. The American people cherish our alliance with Israel because it is based upon our shared experiences and shared values of liberty, freedom and the right to self-defense.

We call on you to immediately stop your attempts to weaken our ally and turn your efforts to the real security threat facing the U.S. and Israel – the prospect of a nuclear-armed Iran.

Sincerely,
